Using pencil and paper and other sorts of summative assessments work some of the time. Using personal whiteboards and colored markers work all of the time. These will allow the students to be productive during whole group and give me a good idea if they are learning the content. My students enjoy drawing and writing on my whiteboard using all sorts of colored markers. As a person who enjoys using colors for instruction and all throughout my classroom, my students are the same way. This will get them inspired to want to work harder and faster. They can even bring them to small group while they sit on the colored stools that are easy to stack later in the afternoon.
These stools will help them feel more comfortable and they can get excited by choosing their favorite color to sit one while they write with the same color on their whiteboard. Don't forget to have somewhere to organize everything! With the organizational sorter, they have a place to put the whiteboards, the markers, and their erasers. I want to see all of my students succeed and achieve their goals. All of these fantastic items will help organize the room and inspire my students even more.
