Each student will receive a pencil pouch on the first day of school filled with supplies. Each supply will be labeled with the student's name. This will create improved organization skills and responsibility along with more successful students in the classroom. It will also cut the cost of needed classroom supplies for the year and decrease the students’ movement in the classroom that tends to cause disruptive behaviors.
The students turn in the pouches on Friday to get their pencils sharpened. If all supplies are in the pouch, they receive a weekly reward of either a full size Hershey candy bar or a package of Grandma's Cookies. If a student misplaces a supply, they must use their classroom dollars to replace whatever is lost.
