My students are kindergartners who are excited to be in school and truly love learning. My students come from the second highest poverty stricken city in the country. The students attend a school with no air conditioner, outdated furniture and broken heat.
Even with the lack of some basic needs, my kiddos come to school and try their hardest to be the best learners that they can be.
What I love about this group of kiddos is that some of them deal with things that would be difficult for many of us adults, but they still come to school with a smile and a willingness to learn. My students deserve more than what I, alone, can give them.
