I love to read and I love to teach children to become readers! In my classroom we spend time with stories, big books, mentor texts and a my classroom library full of fiction and nonfiction books.
I love to spend time with Big Books and use them to teach reading, grammar, writing and social/emotional skills. However, Big Books are BIG and are difficult to share without an easel. My current easel was self built with plastic piping, however, it doesn't always stay standing and is difficult to manage. I like to have my students also use the easel when they are "teaching" the book or even independently re-reading a Big Book.
I would love the help in paying for this sturdy piece of classroom furniture to use for many years to come!
