The makeup of my readers in my classroom is very diverse in reading levels and backgrounds. The majority of my learners are struggling readers, which can be daunting for a learner. Graphic novels are an exciting way to hook below-level, on-level, and above grade level readers.
Not only are these graphic novels engaging, but they feature diverse characters- it is so important to me that each of my students is reflected in the books that they read!
