I teach students in third through fifth grade in a special education magnet program. The students in the classroom are significantly behind their grade level peers academically and socially. We serve kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Emotional Behavior Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Delays, and Specified Learning Disorders. We are a Title One school and 85% of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch, and we have the highest rate of homeless students in the district, but also some of the most eager learners. The students in my classroom are some of the neediest among the general population of the school and my goal is to give them equal access to the same opportunities as other kids in the district. We will be beyond grateful for any and all help.
