School is a unique environment where young children are expected to sit in place for hours at a time while remaining engaged and attentive. Even adults aren't expected to do that! As adults, we get up, move around, have comfy chairs to sit in, whatever we need to refocus! So why should we expect students to be different? Every student is different and their needs must be met in different ways, so its time to change the traditional idea of what a classroom looks like. Every student is different and unique, so why should we expect them all to learn the same way? Wobble chairs, exercise balls, rockers, bean bags, futon, and other options allow the students to take ownership of their learning environment while providing the stimulation that a young mind needs to be successful.
