My students are a very diverse group. They come from all backgrounds and walks of life. There are some very broad socioeconomic gaps in our school. Many of our students have never been outside of the city in which they live. They do not know much about the world outside of the "bubble" in which they live. All students in our school do not have computers in their homes, which in return means no Internet access.
Many opportunities presented to these students only occur at school. For many school is their place of solace. Our school is made of approximately 400 to 450 students, grades K through 4.
