Research suggests that social and emotional development is just as important to children's learning as their academic development. I want to create an environment that enables children to become problem solvers. The requested bookshelf, books, and rug will really bring the safe area to life!
The safe area will give students time and space to manage their emotions. Creating safe space for reflection is vital when trying to build the capacity to teach them how to react when they feel angry, sad, or frustrated. Making peace in kindergarten and empowering my students to identify and communicate their own feelings is the main goal of this project.
