My students are from low socioeconomic areas. They mostly walk to school no matter what the weather. Many do not have coats let alone basic school supplies. Many of my students have many brothers and sisters to share their space with. This leads to difficulty in finding personal space in a small classroom with a lot of bodies. They are eager to help. Almost all of my students receive free or reduced lunch. They are kind, loving, and extremely helpful. My school district in financial recovery and limited in the materials we can provide student. I buy as much as I possibly can to help my students. My students love our classroom but could benefit from more materials to help organize what they have and give them an opportunity to be proud of their space.
