My students need flexible seating like, Metal Stack Stool with Padded Seat, Inflated Stability Wobble Cushion with Pump, Children's Balance Ball, options to do their best learning in a classroom that works for them. This year I implemented flexible seating in my dual classroom of first and second graders and to say it went well would be an understatement. Being the first teacher in the school to use a completely flexible seating plan made me a little nervous, but mostly excited. I started small to test the waters. Because of the success of flexible seating this year, I am looking to expand my resources from which students get to choose. I learned what students like best, wiggle seats, stability balls, flexbands, and stools and used this to create a list of their favorites. Flexible seating increased focus, taught responsibility and sharing, and most importantly created a learning space to best meet the needs of my unique students.
