The use of technology is in the classroom is becoming essential as we develop 21st Century Learners for life beyond the classroom. Not only do we utilize technology to collaborate, create, and critically think, but it's utilized to gain necessary skills like keyboarding, learning to navigate and research. The utilization of technology also allows further differentiated instruction in reading and mathematics, thus providing students with academic instruction at their level. In my classroom, at the beginning of the year, we go from learning how to login and navigate the technology to researching full projects, doing digital writing through Google Slides or Infographic programs and much more. While I would love for every student to bring in their own Chromebook, it is just not a reality for some. Between what the school provides and what students bring in, right now we are not able to access the Chromebooks as a class throughout the week, except for one time. As we look to close the achievement gap presented in our classrooms, one of the ways to do this, is to provide students with other opportunities through creating and bringing the learning to life. By providing Chromebooks for my students I am looking to do this exact thing. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide for this project.
