My students are incredibly diverse, in their personalities and academic abilities. Students range from second to eighth grade reading and math abilities. Since transitioning to Common Core, upper elementary students (and teachers) have been challenged with learning and delivering a curriculum that requires much deeper conceptual understanding of math skills, rather than a memorization of procedural steps.
