All my students are English Language Learners (ELLs). My class is a Sheltered English Immersion(SEI) where students do their best to learn how to read and writing English. Some students were American born and others are new to the country. They are learning English for the first time. Our school is the oldest elementary school in America. We locate in a low income neighborhood where residents are mainly immigrants. Most of my students live with parents, grandparents who do not speak English or speak very little English; therefore, they can not read English with their children at home. My students are very special. They love to learn new things everyday, especially listening to me read aloud to them. They love to do well in school so much that they beg for more homework on the weekend. Math is their favorite subject because they do not have to deal too much with unknown vocabulary.
