My classroom currently has a rug that is several years old and is deteriorating. They are sitting in carpet dust and dirt, which is not healthy, We need a new rug!
Also, many of my students have high emotional needs as they reside in high stress environments and have difficulty sitting still and focusing while on the group meeting carpet as well as in their chairs. I have seen wiggle cushions make a world of difference in students' ability to focus.
In addition, since I do not have an instructional aide, I am conducting small reading groups while center activities are going on, which can be quite loud at times, a whisper phone will help the students in my small groups focus on listening to me and to each other while reading.
Lastly, we were able to purchase a listening center but the budget ran short of providing book sets, so I would like to start a listening library. What good is a listening center without books on CD to listen to?
My students deserve all of this and so much more. Thank you for your consideration!
