In the classes that I teach there are many ELL learners, transients and students who struggle with math. Most students are earnest and hard working. The school is in a regional district with a large low income population. The school has limited in resources. Many of the students do not have the monies to buy the required calculator. I, like many others in my building and in other schools, spend extra time and my own money to help these students be successful. These calculators will have all my students working in small groups talking with math vocabulary and experiencing the math they are learning.
