The donations to this project will give optional seating ranging from balance ball chairs, bean bag chairs, rugs and saucer chairs which will allow a wide range of movement and comfort. The students can lay or sit on rugs to work independently. The balance chairs will be used at desk allowing students to bounce and wiggle while they work. I envision the students moving the bean bag chairs in corners or class library to work independently or in groups. The donations of this project will provide motivation and movement.
Transforming my traditional classroom into an alternative seating classroom will diminish overwhelming sensory and attention issues some of my students deal with daily. These alternative seating methods will allow students to release their frustrations and be able to focus more attentively on school work and in class learning activities.
