Most of my students come from a Hispanic community where books in the English language are scarce. Many students come in with little Letter sound knowledge or Concepts of Print. I work in a Title One School where the majority of our students have Free or Reduced Lunches. Most Parents don't have the financial means to purchase books or technology for their children. Its hard for the children to comprehend a story without the background knowledge of experiences.
