The dynamics of the students in my classroom are vast. Few students come from middle class families, but most come from homes that are economically disadvantaged, immigrant families, second language learners, and even some homeless students. There are several first languages other than English, such as Samoan, Tagalog, Tongan, and Ilocano. A sixth of my classroom is also special needs students. Our school committed to taking these disadvantages students and challenging them to be ready to graduate high school college and career ready. We offer many programs and use program technology in many ways to further ready students and monitor their growth, but often lack updated technology to run programs.
