My students have previously been in a small intervention sized classroom where there is no room to move around besides sitting at a table to read with the teacher. They have never had a chance to spread out and read in a cozy spot. This year, I have moved into a large classroom. I would love to give my struggling readers the chance to have flexible seating options and to be able to choose where they would like to sit and read or work in a spot or way that is comfortable for them. The flexible seating options in my classroom would make my classroom more homey and would let them be able to get their wiggles out and focus on learning.
