Young children are squirmy, wiggly, and downright restless at times!
It is often difficult for lower elementary students to control their need to move during times of instruction. I often implement centers in my classroom, in which students work in small groups, either with a teacher or independently. The balance ball chairs will be a phenomenal addition to my teacher-assisted small group table. Students are expected to be active participants in fifteen minute mini lessons during this time. The bean bag chairs will be a welcoming component to add to my reading rug, where students can be found enjoying books independently or with a buddy. Students will be comfortable in their seats and more productive while doing seat work with the wobble cushions beneath them. The wobble stools will fit perfectly at our computer table, where students will be able to wobble as they work. All of the components that have been selected for this project will feed the need for stimulation so that my students' minds will be focused and on task in the classroom. With your help, this group of young learners will soar to the stars in the first grade.
