In a Title I school, funding for classroom materials can be limited. Each student comes to class with his or her own interests. It is my goal to engage all students by providing them with books that capture their attention and peak their interests. Creating an organized, inviting, and well-stocked classroom library will encourage my students to read. It is important that I teach my students to love learning. A book can take a child anywhere. An inviting classroom library with a variety a books will encourage students to grab a book, find a comfortable spot, and start reading. My students would love this!
In my project, I am requesting book shelves and book bins. These items will be used to create an organized library. The book shelves will be used to store the books, while the bins will be used to group books based on their topic or reading level. I have also requested a selection of leveled books. These books will stock the library and allow student to read based on their individual reading level. All the items I requested will contribute to a comfortable, organized, well-stocked library. This will encourage my students to read. It will also teach them to love reading.
