My students need an updated classroom, including two bright new rugs, four Gaiam Kids Balance Balls, four Bedrests, five stack stools, two Wobble Cushion and Foot Fidget Bouncy Chair Bands, with flexible seating options so they can move throughout the day, collaborate with other students, and reach their fullest potential. After seeing both of my colleagues successfully implement flexible seating this past school year, I am excited to make the change! With the items I am hoping to get for my classroom, students will be able to move away from the traditional desk and hard chair. I want to create an inviting, relaxing atmosphere where students can feel comfortable and have the ability to move freely throughout the day. I will have a large class of students that all have different needs to be met. Some students need to be able to stand while working, while others will benefit from a bouncy band on their chair that they can move their feet on. I want to be able to give students these alternative, more comfortable options, so that they can be successful. With a flexible seating classroom, students become empowered and motivated to make choices that are best for their own learning. Students are able to engage with others and work together. I believe that having many seating options, students can work cooperatively with one another and will be more motivated to do their best .Technology is constantly changing and we are making updates all of the time to our curriculum, I feel that my classroom furniture and set up, also need to be improved and updated.
