I often have many students in my classroom at all times of the day. While I try my best to provide a fun and inviting environment, my classroom is still lacking. I would like my students to have a library in their classroom that they could access if they finish work early, or if they just need some alone time.
The books in this library must also be culturally responsive to reflect the wants and interests of my students' culture. I also would like to build a library that reflects my students' interests and background; one that is culturally responsive. In doing so, I hope to continue fostering a culture of learning and reading that would endure after my students leave my class.
Also, my students are in class for an hour and 15 minutes, so I'd like to have some couches, stools, and bean bags to provide them with flexible seating. They spend their entire day sitting up straight in hard chairs; it'd be nice for them to have a space where they could feel comfortable reading during downtime.
