Setting the stage to engage children in learning is the new revolution. This year my goal is to make school a place children WANT to be and not where they feel they HAVE to be. With "get your neon read on" students will be excited to come to school. They will put on their neon glasses to super focus on the text. They will then use their flower highlighters to mark specific things in different colors to help identify the different types of non fiction. After we finish our super focused neon read on we will have a neon read on glow party where students will use their highlighters to identify items and answer questions from the non fiction text. The students will use their glasses throughout the year as a reminder to super focus in on the text and highlight their evidence.
