Do you remember sitting in a hard and sometimes uncomfortable chair for at least 5 hours a day? Is this truly the best seating arrangement for ALL students? Flexible seating will provide my students the option to be comfortable and engaged in their learning environment. Flexible seating also allows students to have a choice and gives them ownership in the learning process.
Flexible seating allows all students to choose their type of seating and to move about the room for collaboration with one another and the teacher. For the active learners, the Wobble chairs and the fidget bands will give them the avenue to "get the wiggles out." No more wiggly students in traditional chairs that can very easily fall over. The floor mats, reclining seats, and the stability balls will give all students the comfort that they want and the opportunity to move around the room. I want my classroom to be welcoming, accessible to all, and above all a place for authentic lifelong learning. I feel that flexible seating will help meet this goal.
