I work with inner-city preschool students in Cincinnati who attend a school with a 98% poverty rate. My students are bursting with energy and excitement for learning new things.
Most of my students live within walking distance of the school in a neighborhood facing issues that consist of drugs, prostitution and homelessness. Our school is constantly dealing with issues related to low attendance rates and absent parents. As a staff, we are constantly looking for positive ways to influence the lives of our students and spark their interest in learning.
