I teach third grade in a high poverty area in Trenton, NJ. My students are between seven and nine years old. It does not matter how often I provide real world experiences for my students, the material will not stick unless I provide opportunities for meaningful play. I believe that children should have fun as much as possible while learning. When teachers take the time to make learning exciting, children will be excited about learning!
