After teaching Head Start for 8 years, and transitioning to Pre-K, I have seen the importance of giving these children the opportunity to use technology as a tool to enhance their learning. I am ready to incorporate it into the classroom and see how it will help my students blossom.
These materials will help both my English and Spanish speaking students develop the letter knowledge and vocabulary needed to close the 30 million word gap. They will be used along with age appropriate educational programs available to them, and with parent support, continue the practice at home.
The tablets will be used during learning centers which will allow the students to log in to their Smarty Ants account and practice phonemic awareness activities such as letter recognition and sounds, learn new vocabulary, and continue to work on their fine motor skills.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by building a stronger readers and writers, ensuring that they will be reading at grade level or above and ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
