Creating a flexible reading area (oasis) in our classroom will give students the space and opportunity to read for fun in a 鈥渉omey鈥 place. We have been dreaming with this project to a long time but haven鈥檛 been able to do it due to lack of funding. I made some flexible seats by hand prior the beginning of the school year, but we are still in need of more comfortable chairs, a rug, and some other items that will make the reading corner look like a very engaging and cozy reading zone, a reading oasis.
I鈥檝e talked with my 6th and 7th graders about the idea of creating this special space in our classroom. They are very excited and have come up with creative ideas on how to decorate it and use it, making sure the each and every single student gets the chance to use the very special seats.
Your collaboration is very much appreciated. This year only 64 students will benefit with this project, and many more in the years to come.
