Children's books can be mirrors (students see themselves in the books) and windows (they help you see into the lives of others who are different from you). I selected books that show diversity in race, culture, and backgrounds along with books about inclusion, acceptance, respect, and peace. I want ALL of my students to see our wonderfully colorful world and to be able to see themselves represented in our classroom books These books will be put into the hands of kids and will be read aloud to encourage meaningful discussions and life lessons.
