The Magic Tree House book series is an awesome example to students who haven't experienced great stories. So many of my students seek out the series after hearing it in the classroom and it inspires them to find more like it.
Providing an example helps students see that there is more available to them simple stories. The Magic Tree House series takes them on an adventure previously unknown to them. I let them know that it's okay if they don't know how to read yet, they will get there and there are ways access these adventures that will inspire them for years to come.
