My students are a wonderful group of second graders, who come from low social economic families. Our school is composed of 99% Hispanic students, who come to school with a great desire to learn. Most of the parents help primarily with volunteering their time, but financially they cannot help our school. My students are kindhearted and enthusiastic about learning something new despite of the challenges they face at home. Most of us teachers grew up in the surrounding neighborhoods; therefore we have a special bond with our community.
