My students are an eager-to-succeed group of 8-9 year old children. They constantly set and strive to reach goals for themselves, their peers, and their school. Many of my students come from low-income homes. Most do not have the resources to practice basic, essential skills needed in order to succeed in these tested areas. Watching and learning how to navigate lengthy or vocabulary-heavy text always drives them to try it for themselves.
Always trying to beat their last score, this group of students thrives on tips, tricks and chants to get the job done! This opportunity would set them up for a lifetime of achievement in and out of the classroom. Imagine if every child had the POWER of a secret trick when faced with a challenge!
