Science curriculum is moving in a new direction. Students no longer are required to just memorize facts and vocabulary. I want to incorporate reading skills and current event knowledge into our science class. Scholastic Science is an amazing resource to do just that!
Students will use the Science Spin magazines to build their non-fiction reading and comprehensions skills. We will use them to connect our lessons to real life experiences, which many students lack.
Science Spin gives students the opportunity to experience things, through reading, that many of them would not, outside of the classroom.
I look forward to incorporating a love of non-fiction reading into my lessons!
