These musical instruments, Suzuki recorders, will be the first owned instrument for many of my students. They will be able to learn simple songs and have pride in becoming musicians. At our school you must be a 4th grader to be able to join the music program at our site. I feel music helps the whole child learn, and we have no school musical instruments to use. I would love to be able to teach them what I learned as a 3rd grader long ago! They will be able to perform with the recorders at our school at an assembly, and in our peace circle. This is the perfect age for them to learn the responsibility of owning and caring for their own recorder.
