Some of my students are nonverbal or have very limited verbal output- meaning they do not communicate with any (or with many) words. This project will allow my students to have access to sturdy pictures, which are laminated. Pictures will be related to each child's individual needs, as well as classroom needs. Categories of pictures include health, food, environment, school materials, and people/staff in the school environment. Their pictures can be attached, via Velcro, to a communication book, a classroom or student schedule, and to items in their classroom. They will be accessible to students and they will be very durable, due to use of card stock and laminating film. Use of durable, laminated pictures will allow my students to express their thoughts, wants, and, needs.
