My kindergarten classroom is the first public school experience for nearly all of my students. We spend time each day learning the foundational skills required to be lifelong readers, writers, mathematicians, and, most importantly, thinkers. We also spend time each week participating in some purposeful play which is essential to develop much needed social and emotional skills. We are one of only two kindergarten classes in our building and primarily serve children who live right in the neighborhood - nearly everyone could walk to school! Our school is supported by Title I, meaning we receive additional support for our families struggling with poverty.
