As a newly opened school, intent on providing our students with experiential learning, we are developing the resources to do so. Many students struggle to grasp the meaning behind the method in the math that we teach them. We want to go beyond rote memorization of process and help our students to grasp the reasons why we do math, so that they will retain the concepts over time. Hands-on math materials will help my students to see math concepts concretely, and to demonstrate their learning visually.
