I have a public school classroom of 20 students in an inclusion classroom. Eight of these students have been classified as students with special needs. They are of various ethnicities. Many of them have been displaced because of Hurricane Sandy. Some are still not in their homes, or they live on the top floor of their homes while they wait for insurance money to begin working on their homes.
The children are resilient. I have great memories of our first days back after the storm. The children were so glad to come back to their classroom family and share their struggles during the storm. Since then, we haven't stopped working. It has been full steam ahead! The children love praise and love to be rewarded!
Because the students are of various abilities, they could benefit from the technology that I am requesting. Also, the organizational tools requested, will help prepare them for the day.
