My class is part of a Title I campus, meaning many of my students come from a low socioeconomic background. Due to this, most of my class is on free/reduced breakfast and lunch and don’t have many educational resources at home. Several of my students are from single parent households or are raised by a grandparent, which can limit the time spent working with their child. Even through these struggles, my students come to school with a smile on their face each day, eager to learn and not wanting to leave. In fact, every day, one of my students gives me a huge bear hug and then complains to me about having to go home! I love the variety of personalities each child brings to our class, but what I love most is that all of my students try their best, every day, no matter what might be going on at home. My students are motivated to learn and don’t give up on themselves; therefore, I won’t ever give up on them, which is why the resources from this project would mean the world to my class.
