My goal for this school year is to provide my PreK students with multiple flexible seating options. Some children need more movement than others. For some students, being in motion allows their brain to be engaged.
Flexible seating such as using balancing balls, allows the students to wobble, rock, and bounce, which increases their oxygen levels, helps keep young minds more alert and focused. Using the balance balls, my students will be able to get out their excess energy while also increasing their motivation and engagement in the classroom. When a child sits on a ball chair, they are able to direct their natural kinesthetic energy and need for movement in a positive way.
