I teach in a small Title 1 school where low income students struggle daily to become excellent readers. Our classroom is an environment where children learn from everything they do. The centers in the classroom provide choices for them to discover and explore while learning skills to become great readers. My students are challenged everyday by learning at an early age to survive in the real world, and I want them to learn to love school and use the classroom resources for learning and becoming great readers before leaving for first grade. The materials the students have access to ensures their success and provides an avenue for loving to learn.
