This year I am teaching 5th grade. I have not met my students yet and they have not met me. This year I will be teaching a traditional 5th grade class including all subjects. Such as reading, writing, math, social studies, art, and science. This will be my first year teaching a 'normal' classroom. However, I am sure my own abnormalities will keep things interesting. :)
I have a strong focus on technology in the classroom. I feel the future is plugged in. However, there is much to learn from classic literature and perennial ideals. I believe in unconditional love as the guide to my teaching philosophy, and the energy we put out into the world is what comes back to us.
Our classroom is a community of truth. The experiences of each student is as valuable as any reference book. As the teacher I am not a fountain of knowledge but instead a facilitator for collaboration and metacognition that will lead to great learning.
