Our students are bright young learners who require additional support to interact and learn through the use of hands-on activities. Currently, our students are lacking a new carpet space and materials to engage in activities that help develop stronger literacy, language, math and social emotional skills. Providing students with hands-on manipulatives and a new carpet space can increase interactions during our class sessions by providing them the opportunity to expand on their abilities.
Our students have an eligibility of Autism and learn best in a small class setting. I have seen how hands-on activities benefit and help students interact within classroom activities. By doing so, students gain skills and continue to decrease moments of frustration due to the lack of resources available at home.
