I teach sixth grade in a high-poverty school in California. My students haven't had the exposure to the learning experiences that I had in my elementary days, and this frustrates me. Every year the budget cuts are worse than the year before. I hate having to explain to my students that the reason they don't have things in the classroom is because of the budget cuts. My students are hard workers, and take pride in their learning.
