Our middle school reading textbooks do a fantastic job choosing which short stories and excerpts to expose students to. This is extremely beneficial but also leaves them hanging.
My students are grasping to read more! They want to know: what happens next, where did the story stem from, how do the characters end up?
After reading the excerpts from the textbook, as a teacher, I would appreciate being able to have the whole book available to my students so they can keep reading! Their curiosity is getting the best of them, and I want to feed their need to read!
