I have chosen items that will help my students calm themselves when they are angry or when their emotions are out of control. The sensory input students get from jumping on a trampoline or rocking in a rocking chair coupled with breathing will help them calm their bodies and clear their minds.
Focusing on preventative supports is also my goal. Providing fidgets and texturized balls to provide sensory input will help my students maintain attention and hopefully allow them to work through their issues before they become a problem.
Students that are emotionally regulated are able to learn more efficiently.
