A document camera allows me to model math manipulatives, walk my students through the writing process, and display science experiments in real life. But so much more than that, a document camera allows my students to model their thinking to their peers. It provides students with an opportunity to teach others through their work samples. A document camera in the classroom can put real life tools and samples in the hands of my students, making them the guide for their own learning.
My vision is having students at the document camera explaining the strategy they used to solve the math problem, proving what they learned in their science exploration, expanding on their written work as a model for peers. A document camera can help all kinds of learners: visual, linguistic, and kinesthetic.
About my class
