I work at a Title 1 school. Many of my students do not have books at home. This has motivated me to created a classroom environment that offers plenty of opportunities to read. Students can read during morning work, small group, and during our D.E.A.R time. DEAR stands for “Drop everything and read” and through this program my students have been able to fall in love with reading. Through the D.E.A.R the program the students read for 15-minutes on daily basis.
